With more than 11,0000 seniors aging into Medicare every day, there are more older Americans living today than at any other time in the nation’s history. That makes this year’s observance of Older Americans Month more relevant than ever and serves as a good reminder of the contributions to society these seniors have made, and continue to make, and of the opportunities for purpose, exploration, and connection that come with aging.

Today Kline Galland, a non-profit senior care organization, unveiled the new name for its community-based services program, which offers home health, home care, hospice and palliative care to seniors throughout King County. Going forward, these offerings will be a part of Kline Galland’s Benaroya Community Services, a designation created in honor of Rebecca and Jack Benaroya’s many years of service and generosity to the organization.

Mother’s Day is a highly treasured holiday at Kline Galland, as it encapsulates the organization’s emphasis on caring for our elders and celebrating intergenerational relationships.

Today Kline Galland, a non-profit senior care organization, celebrates the opening of the Marty Bender Family Garden at Kline Galland Home. Built in partnership with students at the University of Washington School of Landscape Architecture, the garden was made possible through a generous gift from Josh and Talia Bender in honor of their late uncle, Marty Bender.

The donation will support operational expenses at the Kline Galland Home, Kline Galland’s Community Based Services, and the newly re-named Mary Schwartz Summit, previously known as The Summit at First Hill.
