Silver Hill Hospital (New Canaan, CT), a nationally recognized psychiatric hospital, announced today it will implement MEDITECH Expanse to enhance care coordination and patient engagement. The independent, not-for-profit hospital will also implement Expanse in its outpatient facility in Midtown Manhattan, which has recently been rebranded as Silver Hill New York.

Gibson Area Hospital and Health Services (GAHHS) (Gibson City, IL), the nation’s 5th largest Critical Access Hospital, has signed for MEDITECH Expanse as its go-forward platform. GAHHS has a long and proud history of being an independent healthcare provider, recently celebrating its 72nd year servicing its communities. As a rapidly growing organization, it offers an extensive line of services to eight counties through its main hospital campus and 29 individual clinics.

MEDITECH has accomplished a key milestone with its U.S. interoperability network, Traverse Exchange, as its first customers are successfully exchanging health data to help drive more informed care decisions. Ferry County Health (Republic, Washington) and Frederick Health (Frederick, Maryland) were the initial organizations to connect to the private FHIR-based network in November. Since then, dozens of MEDITECH customers have gone live on Traverse Exchange and more are scheduled through the end of the year and into 2025.

This year, the number of MEDITECH Alliance members has more than tripled, providing customers with significantly more options for integrating proven, successful, and interoperable technologies into their Expanse platform. Two critical access hospitals in Idaho, St. Mary’s Health (Cottonwood) and Clearwater Valley Health (Orofino), have partnered to implement a shared MEDITECH Expanse EHR across their hospitals and associated clinics. The organizations will leverage their collaborative management approach — which spans over two decades — to implement the new intelligent platform using the MEDITECH as a Service subscription model.

MEDITECH today announced the introduction of Traverse Exchange, an advanced nationwide health information exchange network for US customers. Built on the same foundation as MEDITECH’s successful Traverse Exchange Canada solution, this new private network will enable participating MEDITECH customers to share health data seamlessly and securely with one another as well as with organizations using other vendor EHRs and exchange networks that comply with interoperability standards. This private, not-for-profit, psychiatric hospital offers comprehensive services designed to meet the mental health needs of its rural and urban communities. The MaaS subscription-based platform will enable Brattleboro Retreat to expand its services by offering an innovative, mobile, and scalable solution.

The subscription-based MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS) solution is continuing to provide value and efficiency to organizations moving to the Expanse EHR. MEDITECH signed nine organizations to this cloud-based model in the fourth quarter of last year — a repeat of its third quarter success. Overall, 2022 saw an increase of 45% in the total number of organizations licensing MEDITECH's MaaS platform (compared to all previous years).

St. Bernards Healthcare successfully went LIVE with MEDITECH Expanse across their four-hospital network, which includes 440-bed St. Bernards Medical Center, one of the top hospitals in Arkansas ranked by patient volume. The move replaces MEDITECH’s legacy acute, as well as three disparate ambulatory systems and a patient portal.

MEDITECH and Google Health have advanced their search and summarization collaboration to the next phase, with DCH Health System (Tuscaloosa, AL) and Mile Bluff Medical Center (Mauston, WI) signing as early adopters of their integrated solution.
