Former Major League Baseball Executive Nona Lee Releases Bold New Book Calling for Empathy, Equity, and Truth in a Divided World

CHANDLER, ARIZONA - June 16, 2025 - What does it truly mean to show up for equity in an unequal world? In her transformative new book, “The Truth About Us: A Call to Confront Bias, Embrace Empathy, and Build a More Inclusive World,” acclaimed DEI strategist and former Major League Baseball executive Nona Lee issues a compelling call to action for leaders, changemakers, and everyday allies.

Drawing from her lived experience as an openly gay Black woman navigating corporate America and the world of professional sports, Lee offers a raw, empowering, and strategic guide to fostering inclusive, equitable environments in the workplace and beyond.

At the heart of the book is Lee’s original TRUTH Framework:

- Truth-telling

- Reconciliation

- Understanding

- Taking Action

- Humanity

Through candid storytelling, expert insight, and contributions from fellow DEI leaders, “The Truth About Us” encourages readers to reflect deeply, engage empathetically, and act boldly. Far from a book of blame, it is a blueprint for transformation—rooted in honesty and hope.

“Inclusion begins with truth,” Lee says. “This book is not just about checking boxes or hosting training sessions—it’s about doing the real, internal work required to dismantle systems of inequity and lead with compassion.”

Who Should Read “The Truth About Us”?

- DEI professionals and organizational change agents

- Business leaders, executives, and HR teams

- Educators, policymakers, and advocates

Lee’s journey—from medaling in the Junior Olympics to breaking barriers in the NBA and MLB, and now as the founder of Truth DEI Consulting and co-founder of Truth Retreats—serves as a beacon for those committed to lasting change.
