2025 Applications Now Open for Founders Foundation's Accelerator Programme

Founders Foundation, in partnership with Outsourced CFO (OCFO) and Investec, has officially opened applications for its 2025 Accelerator Programme. Running from October 2025 to June 2026, the initiative equips South African entrepreneurs with skills, funding readiness, and growth strategies to scale their businesses successfully.

-- After a successful 2024/25 cohort, Founders Foundation – in partnership with Outsourced CFO (OCFO) and Investec – has opened applications for its 2025 Accelerator Programme.

South African entrepreneurs are invited to submit a nomination to be considered to join this exclusive and exciting initiative designed to empower business owners, lay solid business foundations, and create the necessary framework to scale and grow their businesses, with a focus on either finance or market readiness.

The Accelerator Programme is designed to fast-track the growth and success of emerging businesses by equipping entrepreneurs with the critical tools, skills, and strategies needed to thrive. It focuses on increasing the funding readiness of participating ventures, with dedicated support to help select businesses secure investment from interested funders.

Through intensive training in sales, marketing, and business development, founders are empowered to scale their businesses more effectively and make a greater impact. In addition to practical business support, the programme fosters personal growth, helping to develop stronger, more confident entrepreneurs ready to lead sustainable, high-impact enterprises.

The programme will run from October 2025 to June 2026 and demands active engagement from participants over the 9-month period. Most of the programme costs are generously covered by donations, although a small opt-in fee will be charged to ensure participants' commitment and ownership. The exact amount will be confirmed during the opt-in session and formalized in the signed contract.

Lize McCallum, a representative of Founders Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm for the programme, stating, "We are thrilled to open applications for our 2025 Accelerator Programme. This initiative is a vital opportunity for entrepreneurs to gain critical skills and knowledge that will propel their businesses to new heights.

The Programme has been incredibly successful and we’re absolutely thrilled by the results that our participants have achieved. We are very excited about working with a new group of entrepreneurs and seeing how they can achieve meaningful and sustainable impact in their field."

“The team was thorough in their assessment of our needs, and helpful to prioritise and tailor the interventions to ensure it would have the most impact in our business,” says Dane Thomson, founder and owner of JBS Building Co, and a former participant of the programme.

“It was great to engage with a great team of people who are knowledge experts in their respective fields, and who shared their experience and taught me how best to adapt my business,” adds Thomson.

To be eligible for the Accelerator Programme, applicants must:

  • Have an annual business turnover exceeding R1 million
  • Have a business that has been operating for more than two years
  • Own a South African-registered business
