Sentient Jet Issues Annual Sustainability Update, Reaffirming Commitment to Carbon Offsetting

At no cost to Card Owners, the industry leader makes latest, annual multi-million dollar investment supporting sustainability efforts, surpassing 1.6 million metric tons of CO2 offset since the program’s inception

Reinforced by a passionate belief that the choices made today will help to shape the future of travel, Sentient Jet, the inventor of the jet card category, has made significant strides through its dedicated sustainability initiative, launched in 2021. Now in its fifth year, the company has remained committed to reducing its environmental impact through meaningful, measurable action. With an industry-leading offset rate of 300%, every Sentient Jet flight is fully emissions-neutral, reinforcing the company’s dedication to creating a more responsible future for private aviation. This year, Sentient Jet is proud to report a milestone of over 1.6 million metric tons of CO₂ offset at no additional cost to Card Owners since the program’s inception, which is equivalent to:

  • The carbon sequestered by 1.6M+ acres of U.S. forests (an area of land larger than the state of Delaware or over 1.2 million football fields)
  • The CO₂ emissions from 1.7B+ pounds of coal burned
  • The CO₂ emissions from 1.2B+ smartphones charged
  • The greenhouse gas emissions from 373,208 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles driven for one year

In addition to providing individual offset calculations in post-flight statements, Sentient Jet is developing additional advanced technology to add to its sustainability program, including a new, interactive offset calculator that will further empower Card Owners to track and understand their environmental impact.

Through its partnership with environmental leader 4AIR, the first and only rating system focused on comprehensive sustainability in private aviation, Sentient Jet’s carbon offset program goes beyond traditional aviation sustainability programs by offsetting all aviation emissions, including water vapor, aerosols, and nitrous oxide, which together account for two thirds of emissions an aircraft produces when flying.

With a continued investment of millions of dollars in sustainability to date along with planned future initiatives, Sentient Jet has contributed funds to:

  • Wind power projects in the United States, Asia and South America
  • Renewable energy projects in Turkey and India.
  • Aim to reduce emissions from deforestation and degradation and support social services for 180,000 remote people and protection of the bonobo and forest elephant habitats in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
  • Protecting 5,800 forest acres across New York, New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine
  • Installing over 400,000 affordable and efficient cookstoves to low-income Ghanaian households
