Positive Coaching Alliance Launches Lee Corso Legacy Fund to Honor Coaching Legend and Champion of Youth Sports

Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) has announced the launch of the Lee Corso Legacy Fund, created to honor the beloved college football coach and longtime ESPN analyst for his lifelong commitment to promoting positive coaching and positive youth sports experiences for all kids.

The Lee Corso Legacy Fund will help PCA continue its mission of transforming the youth sports culture by providing coaches, parents, and athletes with resources and training that foster character development, sportsmanship, and joy in play. The Fund will also support the establishment of the Lee Corso Legacy Award, recognizing coaches who embody Corso’s belief that sports are a vehicle for teaching life lessons and building confident, resilient young people.

“I’m deeply honored that the Positive Coaching Alliance is creating the Lee Corso Legacy Award to support youth sports,” said Coach Corso, former college football coach and ESPN analyst. “Promoting youth sports has been a lifelong passion of mine. I have always believed that positive, encouraging coaching is the best way to motivate and inspire our youth.”

“And I’m grateful to my former Indiana University Holiday Bowl Championship Team Co-Captain and great friend, Terry Tallen, for introducing my family and me to this terrific, philanthropic youth sports organization,” added Corso. “Terry has been instrumental in creating and leading the funding for this award.”

“I’m so proud of the Positive Coaching Alliance for expanding its mission by creating this fund and honoring one of college football’s greatest coaches, sportscasters and my longtime friend and mentor, Coach Lee Corso,” said Terry Tallen, PCA board member and CEO of Tallen Capital Partners. “I’m thrilled to kick off its funding with a significant lead gift donation and challenge my fellow football friends, fans and youth sports supporters to match my gift to join PCA and help honor Coach Corso and his belief that sports done right changes lives.”

The fund’s creation underscores PCA’s commitment to ensuring every young person—regardless of background or circumstance—has access to a positive sports experience guided by caring and inspiring coaches.

“Coach Corso’s impact on generations of athletes, fans, and families goes far beyond the field,” said Jason Sacks, CEO of Positive Coaching Alliance. “His legacy reminds us that when coaches lead with positivity, integrity, and love for the game, they shape lives. The Lee Corso Legacy Fund ensures that spirit will continue to inspire coaches and athletes for years to come.”
