The Shine Music Collective, a music institution founded in 1993 by Professor Strahinja Sajin, is officially closing the loop on their musician’s ambitions. Originally established as a music school in South Africa, the Collective has evolved into an ecosystem that connects education, performance, professional rentals, and now, retail.
With the launch of the Shine Music Shop (https://shinemusicshop.com/) in November 2025, the Collective integrates the final piece of its vision: a ecosystem where music is taught, practiced, performed, and supplied.
A Complete Musical Ecosystem
What began over three decades ago has expanded into a multi-faceted operation. By integrating services, Shine ensures that musicians are supported at every stage of their development:

Shine Music School: Providing private and group instruction in guitar, piano, drums, vocals, violin, and woodwinds across campuses in South Africa, Spain, and a robust global online program.

The Music Room: A creative hub in Barcelona dedicated to rehearsal and co-collaborating for musicians. It serves as a space for artists to connect, practice, and organize live music events.

Closing the Loop
The launch of the online store is a strategic move to complete the Collective’s service cycle. The goal is to create a self-sustaining loop where students learn at the school, artists meet and rehearse at The Music Room, organizers rent sound equipment for their events, and musicians purchase quality gear from the Shop.
By focusing on a strong selection of second-hand instruments alongside new inventory, the shop also promotes a circular economy, keeping quality gear in circulation and making instrument ownership more accessible to the European market.
A Growing Community
The Collective has seen steady, organic growth in its community initiatives. The Shine Jam Sessions hosted at different venues for local and visiting musicians.
What started as informal gatherings has matured into a series of events that frequently reach venue capacity. These sessions bring together a diverse mix of students, local professionals, and international artists, fostering a real-time exchange of ideas and musical styles.
