Esmark Inc., today, announced Gabriela Valles Jimenez as the first recipient of the new Heisa Bouchard Ferrer Scholarship, a financial award recognizing exemplary first-generation, Spanish-speaking students, pursuing a degree within the College of Education at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC). The scholarship was established by Esmark Inc. to honor Bouchard Ferrer, HR manager at Esmark, Inc., and to acknowledge UIC’s designation as an Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).

It is with great sadness that Esmark Inc. announces the passing of Helen Elizabeth Bouchard on December 27, 2022, at the age of 96. She was the mother of Sewickley-based Esmark Inc.’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer James P. Bouchard and grandmother of 20 grandchildren including Bouchard’s five children: Natalie, Clayton and Aubrey, all scholar athletes and graduates of Quaker Valley High School, and James and Robert in Florida.

Bouchard and long-time friend Martina Roda have made a second donation of $25,000 USD to aid and support Ukrainians seeking refuge in Košice, Slovakia. This is the Company’s second donation to City of Košice, a city led by Mayor Ing. Jaroslav Polaček, to aid Ukrainians fleeing to Slovakia.
